Oppo Find X8s: Expertise behind record-breaking screen revealed (2025)

Tianma might be best known for automotive screens in its native China - in fact, it is said that up to 1 of every 4 cars has one of the supplier's displays in it. The company has now also been confirmed to be responsible for one of the new Find X8s' mostcutting-edge (kind of literally) features.

Oppo could not afford to take any chances with the device's screen real estate, as it is only 6.32 inches in diagonal length. Tianma apparently demonstrated that it was up to the job with an "extreme routing" technique that resulted in bezels of just 1.25 millimeters (mm) on each side for the new compact powerhouse.

The process was applied to the company's 6th-generation flexible AMOLED, which also confers a 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits (albeit not LTPO) on the smartphone.

Its screens were reportedly produced and developed under such tightly controlled, regulated conditions that they seemed "almost abnormal" even to industry veteran Digital Chat Station.

The Find X8s and its record-breaking screen are now available for as little as ~$570 in China. It has yet to show signs of hitting the global market, although you can already buy a case for it on Amazon.
